I'm really looking forward to the 10th. Sounds like a lot of fun! I can bring a mushroom, cheese and prosciutto salad and if a main course is needed, let me know. Also, I have lost 6 pounds...hippee!!!!!

Joan, congrats on the 6 lbs! By the way, we have now added member stats to our prfile and members list, so members can update their weights (starting/current/goal) It's optional, but very useful to see.

Hi Joan,

Wonderful on the weight loss!

A main course would be good. I think we are up to our necks in side dishes.

I can make a main course, maybe a poached salmon.

Unhappy bad news

It's looking very bad right now for the Vancouver trip (ferry fare and ferry scheduling notwithstanding).

My beloved 3.5yo nephew has just days ago been diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, Type I. Acute and sudden onset, probably the autoimmune variety and his pancreas just packed it in. The entire family has been in an uproar and he's been in the hospital 24x7 since, trying to get his blood sugars down and get a routine (with a 3.5year old??) with 4X+ bloodtests and insulin injections. It's been ridiculously tough and stressful, especially with the C.D.A. attitude to carbs and insulin (my hair just stands on end).

Anyway, coming over on a Sunday, overnighting (that ferry schedule makes it about mandatory if there's a dinner) and returning to Vic the next day is looking darn near impossible. I'll keep it open, but just wanted to let you all know (and vent a bit, thanks!).

Unhappy Too bad!

Sorry we (probably) won't get to see you, and even sorrier about your little nephew. I have a niece who's 2 1/2, and I'd freak if she got sick...that's so tough.

Well, take care of yourself, love to see you if you can make it, but there'll be another time if you can't.

Rachel

I do a 'killer' caesar salad. That would be me, my hubby (can't find a date)..and possibly Raven the Standard Poodle.

Unhappy

Oops, looks like I can find a date...and hubby too...unfortunately don't have a car that will transport more than 2 at a time.

We have a friend of hubby's (they've been friends for 41 years) coming from Sudbury for a week (guess which week). And both our cars only hold 2 people (and it's a long drive to take 2 cars). So, since we don't have a trailer for our guest and dog, I'm don't think we can make it. Bummer. But let me think on it. If I can talk Jinxie into going,.......

Umm...not so's you'd notice. the Fiero only has room for my purse in the trunk, the the 280Z is a hatchback, not really enough room for the dog, leave alone two guys over 6'...

Ah, the drawbacks of sports cars!

If you can't make it Lainey, just send the date, the poodle, and the Caesar salad. We'll take good care of them all!
