What are the ramifications, other than hunger, of not eating every six waking hours?

Your metabolism might slow down and you'd lose weight more slowly. It's impotant that our bodies feel 'fed'.

In addition to slowing your metabolism, your blood sugar levels get too low and you may not feel well.

If you can eat every 4 hours it's even better. Women who eat more frequent, smaller meals are less likely to gain weight and more likely to lose it when trying to. The very act of digestion takes energy and raises metabolism.
