Default First post but not new to site or Atkins

Hello, my name is Jen,
I have struggled with my weight since my son was born 22yrs ago, and I quit smoking cold turkey. I struggled to keep my weight down prior to my pregnancy, but once I had that big gain (70lbs in 10mos) it was a real problem. I have been to my goal weight a few times, but always regain weight after several months or a couple of years.

I have tried TOPS, WW, Atkins (by the book), vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan. Vegan and non vegan approach Atkins are easiest for me to follow, but for satiety, Atkins definitely works best for me.

I'm not at my top weight right now, but I'm getting there; it's only been three yrs since I was at goal weight

I want to lose 40lbs.

Welcome Jen,
We are happy to try to help you. Look around and ask questions. There are two good general guides to weight loss, one for women over 40, here: https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/guides#weight. Maybe some of these tips will help you.
All the best

Hi, Jen. From my perspective, the Weight Creep is a real thing. Always lurking. You've come to a great place here. Like you, I'm getting back on the path, with lots of encouragement. DH has joined me in the Diet Doctor Two Week Keto Challenge. That's just the start, but we're enjoying it.

Being older adds an extra level of "challenge" to the commitment but...all we have is time--at least right now--right?

Best wishes.
