Default Would you eat Low Carb after a Heart Attack?

Just curious whether people would start a low carb diet after a heart attack/surgery. I see youtube videos who advise a low-fat vegan style diet to keep your heart clean from plaque. But none really advocating low carb. Now that I'm over 50 I think about this stuff!! Lol

I would, and there are now many Cardiologists who prescribe it.
Dr Bret Scher, the Low Carb Cardiolgist, just posted this summary on the burden of heart disease, which tracks with obesity and diabetes. But if you follow the links in this article, you will find more of his work and more articles on low carb and heart disease: https://www.dietdoctor.com/heart-di...den-on-the-rise

Good Op-Ed in Washington Times by Cardiologist: Fatty foods don't cause heart disease, bread and pasta do -

https://www.washingtontimes.com/new...-bread-and-pas/

Also look at the heart health sub-forum, many articles here too
https://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=48

There are other Cardiologists like Dr Eric Thorn, Dr Nadir Ali, (Podcast, https://vinnietortorich.com/2018/08...i-episode-1121/) etc. who do prescribe low carb.
My own doctor said in a recent talk that patients who need to lose weight while waiting for heart transplants are referred to him...from Cardiologists at one of the nation's top hospitals.

Ps, if your stats are correct you have been on this forum since 2015. A 50th birthday might be time to commit are you doing the Carnivore Diet now?
Something else? Need suggestions?

Pitfall21, you can find all sorts of videos on the internet promoting just about any as the one, true, way. I’m not sure I’d start a low carb diet after a heart attack. I would, however, for myself, start one before I had a heart attack

What’s right for you? Who knows!

I've been on a low carb diet since the 1970s. I had my heart and circulation system measured by a heart specialist. They said I had a circulation system of a person 20 years younger than myself.

That's me -- I don't know if it would work like that for everyone.

I don't even know why I asked this question. Lol. It's not like I can do any type of LC for an extended period of time. I just did 5 days of Carnivore. On the 5th day, my wife made shredded chicken fajitas for the family along with fresh salsa and I caved. I only had the chicken with cheese and salsa...at first.
But the fresh tomatoes turned into a PB and J sandwich. Now I'm back on carbs again. I'm 51 years old and I am more messed up with food than any point in my life. The older I get the less resolve I have to stick to any way of eating. This also includes Vegan. vegetarian, 1 Meal as Day, 8/16, Weight Watchers. I've done them all...over and over. Think it's time to just forgive myself and move on.

If you asked the question (you know you'll always get some answers here) out of curiosity and not due to any actual experiences, I understand. I would heartily endorse low carb at any time, and particularly after a heart attack. You can combine vegetables with healthy proteins and fats (I don't care about the feigned horror of the vegans and vegetarians), but as mentioned, massive amounts of carbs are the culprit here. Low carb is more forgiving in that from my experience, one requires fewer supplements to help maintain good health compared to other dietary approaches. As people get on in age and due to consumption of predominantly carbs over a long time, the cravings for carb food increase, and it becomes harder to control one's carb consumption. Mounting addiction? Eerily similar. You can change that. That's my two cents.
