"deconstructed" pizza
This was kind of a silly notion that turned out well. On cooking shows you hear about various "deconstructed" dishes made of the component parts.
In a glass baking dish: I cut up tomatoes and red onion, drizzled with a little olive oil and fresh oregano on one half; on the other half, laid slices of aged cheddar, sprinkled with fresh basil. Put it in the oven for 10 minutes. The cheese melted into a toasty kind of "crust" along with the roasted veggies.
Broke off parts of the cheese crust, topped with some tomatoes, onion, and herbs.
Had the pizza elements. Plus looked nice in the dish for serving and smelled very "Italian" with the fresh herbs oregano and basil!
