Default Looking for 100% pure Stevia that tastes good

For years I used Kal brand Stevia - no bitter aftertaste - and 100% stevia extract - no additional ingredients.

Well some time ago Kal added maltodextrin - probably from GMO corn - probably cancerous - probably higher glycemic - and probably not good for me.

I tried Now brand organic 100% stevia. It had no aftertaste, but it wasn't sweet. It took way too much (1/2 teaspoon) to make a dent in the tea.

Then I tried "Slim Healthy Mama" brand, and it has a slight aftertaste.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Please don't waste your time with Truvia and other stevia mixtures - I don't want maltodextrin or "Natural Flavors", just Stevia.

Thanks.
Bob

I've only tried Nunaturals and Sweetleaf in the powder and I didn't like the Sweetleaf at all. Nunaturals has various formulations, including some pure and some not.

I usually use Nunaturals in liquid forms.

Thanks. I couldn't find any NuNaturals pure stevia, all had maltodextrin or glycerin in there so I e-mailed them.

SweetLeaf has a few products, including a pure stevia extract. What didn't you like about the SweetLeaf?

Thanks,
Bob

Here's one without maltodextrin:

I have that one and found it hard to work with because you use such a tiny amount.

I thought Sweetleaf was bitter compared to Nunaturals.

Thanks.

That one looks good, 100% stevia is what I'm looking for. I'll try that one.

And I'm also trying to avoid the bitter aftertaste.

do you know that you can grow stevia? Very easy, I dried the leaves and then ground them in my spice grinder.

I can't grow anything where I live except desert plants.

I live on an ancient sand dune, about 30 feet above sea level composed of sterile sugar sand. Downhill to the east is a very sensitive, already endangered, and important lagoon. Downhill to the west is a nature preserve.

To get something to grow here requires huge amounts of water and fertilizer. The fertilizer is the problem. It goes through the sugar sand like a sieve, and pollutes the lagoon. The fish, dolphins and manatees are already in trouble, so I cannot in good conscience contribute to their demise.

I don't have a lawn, but have planted xeriscape plants, mostly natives, that do not require chemicals or additional water to survive. Unfortunately, none of these plants provide food.

I tried a few like Barbados Cherries which were supposed to hate water and fertilizer - they didn't like it here either.

Citronella grass grows here and that minimizes the mosquitoes though.
