Talking Eggnog Coffee Protein Smoothie

I just made the best eggnog smoothie and thought I would share.

Blend 5-6 ice cubes
Add 1 scoop of Vanilla Whey Protein
Add 1/4 cup eggbeaters (1 egg)
Add 2 tablespoons of splenda
Add 2 heaping tsps of instant esspresso grounds
Add 1/2 teaspoon of rum extract
Add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream
Add 1/8 - 1/4 cup of water and blend.

It remindes me of the Starbucks eggnog frappachinos without all the extra sugar and carbs.

This is great! And quick! And easy!! I won't be using it just for breakfast. We like eggnog this time of year (who doesn't!) and I've not liked some of the LC recipes I've tried and was just about to give up. Plus, I had to wait for them to cool off. Plus, they all required copious amounts of eggs! EEK! Well, this protein eggnog is perfect! Can't wait to make it tonight!

Thank you for this recipe!!!

Can you use real eggs? Hubby just said people don't do that anymore because of salmonella. Are eggbeaters safe to drink raw?

Anyway, just a thought...I want to try them!

I used a raw egg. Haven't keeled over . . . yet.

Sorry Emeraulde, didn't see your question! I did want the OP said but used egg not egg substitute and didn't use the rum. Cafe Bustelo instant is my favorite instant coffee. Hope you get to make this!

If you left off the whey protein would that mess up the results?
