Hi folks,

Sorry to have to miss this important get together. Something came up as a last minute development, I just had my promised bread loaf out of the oven

I hope everything went great, and I look forward to your reports. I can just imagine the rave reviews

Wa'il

Wa'il, so sorry you missed it. We missed you, and you missed Karen's best tiramisu ever. (Hint: I couldn't believe it was low carb - she's hit on a cake recipe to die for!) Great folks, wonderful food, marvelous evening!

We're already tossing around the idea of a restaurant dinner, or at least coffee sometime soon. Hope to see you next time!

Cheers,
Rachel

Another brilliant potluck by LC Vancouver! All the food was muy fantastico! I feel confident saying that we are all eagerly looking forward to the next gathering.

Sorry you missed it Wa'il. I made the tiramisu especially for you! We missed you, and your bread. It would have been great with E-girl's pate and the blue cheese mousse that Liz made.

1. Engineergirl, chicken, pancetta, veal and pork pate
2. Ruth, cauliflower casserole
3. Steven, pesto and Parmesan ratattouille
4. Sharon, cauliflower and spinach puree, Greek salad
5. Karen, prime rib of beef, eggnog tiramisu, sugar plums, almond-tofu chocolate squares
6. Sarlye and Paul, egg, pepper and shrimp rolls
7. Gerry and Colin, grilled vegetables with balsamic dressing
8. Adrian, San Pellegrino water, diet Coke and whipping cream
9. Marlaine, spicy chicken wings, pork rinds
10. Islandgirl, sweet and sour rosemary scented radishes
11. Kathy, sausage and mushroom casserole
12. Liz, creamy blue cheese mousse with peppers, celery and cucumber
13. Rachel, her own hand made turkey jerky, garlicky tofu dip with soy crackers

I hope I didn't miss anyone!

Karen

Default The food was truly spectacular

I ate too much, got really full which is something I practically never do on this way of life. I really really hope everyone posts their recipes. The was a large variety of unbelievably tasty veggie casserole thingies and the meaty dishes were fantab. Karen, thanks once again for sharing your space, and for the beautiful roast and tiramasu. Can you encourage the people who don't belong to this board to give you their recipes for posting?

We do great food.

Boy oh Boy! You can say that again. I haven't done that in ages and I remember why I stopped doing it. Does NOT feel good!

Liz, have you posted your delicious offering yet?

I wrote in my journal about the pot luck:

The food was wonderful! And though I'm fairly certain that I stayed under 2000 calories and 25g of carbs for the day I'm feeling today like I over ate last night. There were several things that I could have just kept on eating because they were so delicious. The food was very good, but the company was even better. What a nice group of people I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting. Thanks to all of you for helping to make it a great evening!

I can, but all the dishes were of the "I just threw it together" variety. I know, not a lot of help!

You're right. Our food certainly does rock!

Yes, the food did rock especially Karen's tiramisu with the flourless cake - you really should patent that, Karen

(and btw, the fudge went over very well at home! thanks, again)

It was great to be able to meet some of the people off this board in person - it's always nice to put a 'real' face to a name

looking forward to the next get-together

Hmmmmmm, was that the delightful little terrine which seemed to be a Bacon-Wrapped Veal & Pistachio dish?

If yes, wow! EngineerGirl! I would REALLY like the recipe.

If not, well SOMEBODY was missed...

I had a lovely time and (oh boy) Karen even wrapped me some leftovers the next morning! What a gracious hostess!
