You know, I think it's actually quite helpful to others to see the struggles we go through in trying to work our way out of this kind of dreadful stuff.

PM me if you need to talk in private. And drop into my gym log or journal anytime if you need to chat.

'K?

Good luck sweetie. I really hope you find your path sooner than I did. I had NO information when I was trying to figure it all out. Thank GOD I know better now.

No, and NONE. They're crap.

Stay away from fake food. No bars, no shakes, no low carb bread/wraps, no sugar alcohols, no nuttin fake except s/f jello, and splenda to put in your coffee or tea.

Luvley, listen to Built. She knows what she is talking about! I have been lifting heavy and I reduced my cardio and I am definitely NOT bulking up.

Good luck.

Luvely, red and build are right when it comes to the excercise. Weights do not bulk women up. Those that you see in magazines likely got that way through the help of some anabolic steroid use, not strictly by lifting weights.
2 hours of cardio a day is way in excess of what you need or what would be helpful for your body, especially given that you are still struggling with the emotional aspects of eating regularly and quite frankly, I'm seeing that as another danger sign. Please have a look at the links I provided earlier. I'm concerned about you.

I second Red's comment, Luvley. I started weights in early summer, following Built's ideas. I haven't lost any weight, but my waist is 1.25 inches smaller, my hips 1.6 inches smaller, and my thighs 1.5 inches smaller. That's fat lost and some muscle built. In any case, even though I didn't lose weight, I'm SMALLER! It works. Try it.

Okay, watch the PM eating. Eat breakfast - it speeds up your metabolism. PM eating just sits on you while you sleep.

And I mentioned the 6 meals a day thing above - space them out, like every two to three hours, all with about the same number of carbs and fat and protein (about 15g each of protein and fat, under 5g of carb).

Oh, and low carb veggies, such as romaine and broccoli. A few cups a day not only fill you up, but they have vitamins AND fiber. You need about 20-25g of fiber a day to stay healthy and to lose weight well.

WATER!

Try for about 90-100g each of protein and fat for the day. Go to www.fitday.com to see how you're doing. This will put you in the 1200-1350 cal a day range, which should be okay for your height - maybe a little low, but a decent starting point.

And check out the link to my first lifting programme on page 1 of my journal.

Luvley:

Are you aware that you can start a journal so that folks that want to can write to you there? It's against forum rules to post your email address here, but apparently the moderators haven't been checking on that very closely recently. (It's for your own protection.)

At some point you will need to start incorporating some of this information into your own plan. There is no clear cut time of night for everyone to stop eating . We are all different. We wake up, eat, and sleep at different hours.

I'm almost beginning to think that you are putting us all on, but maybe not.

Kay
