Yes, Jey does always find the best info. for our low carb arsenal!

Don't you just feel sorry for all of the victims on that show though? That's the first thing I think of when I see a pic of her. How mean she was to them. She would berate, shame and insult them, making them do things someone with an extra 100 pounds should never do, stressing their bodies to the point that sometimes I thought some of the were going to have heart attacks.
Then the other trainer, I forgot his name, did have a heart attack. Now I see him on drug commercials promoting clot busting drug thinners while he's probably still eating lots of grains and no fat, what made him sick in the first place!
Poor Allie Vincent. Have you heard that she has gained all of her weight back. I sometimes watch some of the reruns of her spin-off show where I can pick out every single mistake she is making with her high carb/low fat training.

I just looked her up and the source said she gained it back following sexual assault. Awful.

I wish she would come here, maybe she has and we don't know?
She's been put into a box because she's been told that low fat is the only way to loose weight. I hope she finds her way out of there and opens her self up to other ways to loose and get healthy at the same time.
I watched a video of her after the gain-back and she looks so defeated so distressed. I don't like to see people suffer like that especially when there is another way.
I think most all of us can attest to the facts that this WOE works to bring health to our lives while eating really good food.

I remember how desperate I was when, with great effort, “their way” worked and I thought I’d finally figured it out. Until... it stopped

That's probably what happened to her, it stopped working. At her goal weight she was probably at the most extreme. Exercising all day long and eating a 0 fat, high carb diet. Then real life happens, the exercise slows down and the fats creep up combined with the high carbs. It's a perfect storm.

From what I've read, Jillian blames the Paleo diet for Bob Harper's heart attack; he blames his family history. A friend of mine says he blames the keto diet specifically. She believes going keto is hard on the kidneys and will kill you.

I just read a meta-analysis that showed no kidney damage whether you eat high or low protein.

All of these fitness gurus worship grains. The only reason they are not obese is the four hours of exercise they do every day.

And we now know that this might control weight: but it doesn’t fend off metabolic syndrome after all.

Something good might have come from crazy Jillian Michaels mouthing off after all! Someone just posted this on r/keto:
Quote:
Just passed my 3 week mark on Keto, and I’ve lost 7 pounds so far (hoping to lose 30-40 pounds total). I feel amazing. I just had a steak lunch with some olive oil drizzled on top and goat cheese on the side. Never before thought that I could eat something like that while trying to lose weight. Now I know better.

I actually have Jillian Michaels to thank for this, because after she talked schmack about Keto, I researched it, spoke to a coworker who lost 50 pounds on it, and decided Jillian should have a seat.

Woo-hoo!!! Good job, CityGirl! Sometimes it takes someone bashing something before you take a good look at it. You were smart to do your research rather than blindly believing what you hear from a "celebrity."

CityGirl was quoting someone else. But I agree with her that this likely backfired in that some people noticed Keto for the first time, and were introduced to the lively and lovely world of low carb.
