Thumbs up Your in Luck! I started new years day too

Hey. I am happy to be a buddy. I can be annoyingly optimistic and I'm also dyslexic but otherwise good to go.

Cantact me if you want to take me up on this. By the way I put the wrong time in when I joined up! Anyone know how I can change it?

Thanks

Lollie

Hi Sadia, MsTwacky and Lollie,

Sadia,
I know, we all know how you feel. I dont get carb cravings, but its quite tough when everyone around is eating carbs and when thats the most easily available food. Especially with a little kid around the house ot run after I am sure its tough. I would love to be your buddie for your daily encouragement. I am using msn quite a lot these days as I am infront of the computer a lot recently. I tried to pm you, but it said you cant take any, I will try again. I am sure together we can do this.

Hey MsTwacky,
I noticed in one of your earliest journal entries that you were eating peanut butter. Did you find that kicked you out of ketosis? I like to have a spoonful of peanut butter from time to time aswell and I've been having that. But I did'nt seem to have lost any weight this week I wonder if that has anything to do with it.I guess it could also be the milk in the tea I have. But I did'nt think I was going over 20g carbs a day.... Hmmmm

Lollie,
you should be able to change your profile or any settings from the "quick link" tab. Have a look at the options in there.

Take care you all, together we can do this
Celia

Celia,

I don't do Atkins anymore, but I still low carb. But I eat fruit and veggies. So I don't check to see if I am in Ketosis anymore. I finally realized that if I eat low carb and don't cheat, the weight will come off. I just don't know when.

Hi, may I join too?

I'm 169 and would like to be 125. I'm in my early 20's and 5'3.

I've done serious Atkins (absolutely NO cheating) once before and a couple other general low carb attempts.

Hi diet buddies,

Happy New Year...can it really be 2005 already !!

Meant to write earlier but it's an effort to fight for time on the 'pooter, what with the kids and my partner all wanting to use it.

Well did I get a big shock when I weighed in on Jan 1st.

OMG...12 1/2 stone...that's 175lbs !!!

I haven't weighed that much in 3 years.

Have seriously gone into panick mode. Dunno if I mentioned it in my earlier post but I'm going to the Canaries in May for 2 weeks and I'm getting married in August...Do I have incentives or what !!!

Anyway been back to it for a week now...haven't weighed myself again yet (am too scared to but clothes are feeling looser) but have slowly eased my way back into lc'ing and have been on the running machine twice this week.

I'm going to concentrate on exercise alot this year....so to the person who mentioned weekly exercise goals (sorry can't remember your name) I'm seriously up for it.....My aim is to do 2 weekly sessions on my running machine (bought it cheap on ebay last year) and 1 weekly aerobics session at a Rosemary Conley class. I don't do the diet but the exercise class and the other ladies are great...I don't weigh in when I'm there.

I'll be back with my weigh-in results later in the week.

Good luck everyone !!

Ali

Hey alibubble,

good to hear from you again Yeh, I did mention the exercise idea but hav'nt managed to start it myslef yet. Had some problem with bladder (either UTI or inflammation) so trying o take it easy). But I should start it now. My incentive is also a holiday I want to shock some people with the new me, the new thinner me that is dieying to get out of this body

Not finding it tooooo difficult to stick to induction (just a bit difficult ) so far. Lets see how things go. I'm sure together we can do this...

Anyone, please feel free to edit the tables below if you think you can make them clearer.
Celia

Hi Celia, I do have that same problem about being able to stick to anything including Atkins. Until I surrendered. I can't beat sugar or flour, so I gave up on trying to eat them in any type of moderation.

The plan I'm on is similar to Atkins, but with some guidelines as to how much of what foods. It works for me because I have support from people doing what I'm doing in OA meetings. So I guess I have an advantage.

I took the plunge and weighed myself this morning....

4lbs down !!!! Better change my stats now.

Hurray...just got to keep it going....

Sadia...have you checked out all of the recipes on this site ? Some of our american friends are excellent at adding new recipes for us all to try.
Have you tried baking a chicken breast in foil, covered in cheese, bacon and a little garlic ? Serve it on a bed of lettuce. It was my saviour during induction and really filled me up, cheese is a great stomach filler.
According to my books both onions and tomatoes are allowed on induction. I don't take too much notice of the Atkins website these days as they just seemed to have bowed to pressure and rewritten the rules when it comes to our intake of fat.

Good luck people

Ali

Hi everyone,

how are you all? How is is going? I lost only about a pound this week Never mind, God willing, next week will be better.

Sadia, I have added you to msn, hopefully we will chat soon. Sorry I cant help much with the recipies as I myself need some help in that section. But check oout the recioy section of this forum or other peoples journal entries I guess.

MsTwacky, what is OA? Its great that you found a way to have a leash on your carb amounts witohut Atkins.

Is'nt it amazing, how the challanges are so different from people to people. How we all fall off the wagons for different reasons. Lets hope none of us do that mistake again. Oh, what else, feeling a bit down as I only lost about a pound this week. I have to cut down on my tea with milk

Hope all of you are doing well. Read from you soon

OA is short for Overeaters Anonymous. It's a 12 step program same as alcoholics anonymous or narcotics anonymous. Only they deal with food as an addiction.

Everything is going good so far, I won't be able to post my stats since I only am weighing once a month. Also I'm still sick so no workouts, but food is going great!!

Ok, I went ahead and weighed myself even though I'm not supposed to for a month. I just had to check to see if I was eating right.
