Default Vienna's getting serious

Right... a gym log. Nike says, Just do it! - and I want to!

I'm a gym member. I always go to the gym in the morning on weekdays, but that doesn't mean I work out! It's simply that I have a terrible shower at home and prefer to shower at the gym, which is right next door to my workplace. So "going to the gym" means very little

My goal or plan is this:
  • Daily: walk to work daily on weekdays - that's 40 minutes total
  • Monday: Lower body workout (7 tri-sets, repeated 3 times)
  • Tuesday: Treadmill run 30 minutes
  • Wednesday: Lower body workout
  • Thursday: Treadmill run 30 minutes
  • Friday: Lower body workout
  • Saturday: morning gym class
  • Sunday: OFF!

I purposely avoid working out my upper body (shoulders, arms etc.) because I'm extraordinarily muscular anyway and the last thing I want is to build more muscle! I'm just that kind of body type.

My challenge is consistency... I'll do it for a week, maybe two, but then I tend to get bored and things become routine and it all goes out the window. I hope this journal will help keep me accountable!!

Er, no... they predicted rain... er... so I drove. No rain so far. Sigh.

Wednesday's goal: Lower body workout

Well, I did what I thought I should do, but realised in the middle of it that I was only doing 1/3rd of what I'm supposed to do... I'd misunderstood the instructions... how demoralizing!! So I finished what I had planned to do, anyway, and as of next week will do the full thing.

I was still sore this morning from doing it (1/3rd of what I'm supposed to do) on Monday! So at least something's happening. Working up to it slowly. Sigh.

No again, weather is rotten, so I drove. And it's OK!

Thursday's goal: Treadmill run 30 minutes

No. I don't feel 100% - a sore throat coming on - and yes that's totally an excuse. I could have run this morning had I really wanted to. But I didn't really. Sigh.
