Angry quit smoking

Has anyone out there quit smoking and noticed their weight loss stall completly. I quit 4 weeks ago and can't seem to loose an ounce, in fact if I am not super careful, I will gain a pound (not even cheating) I am just wanting to know how long this lasts!! I am starting to get a little frustrated.

I don't know why quitting cigs would cause a stall, but why don't you ask in the "Kick Nicotine Club" forum? They'll probably help you out! Click here.

Congratulations on quitting!

I know that Nicotine boosts your metabolism, but I'm not sure how long the stall will last.

Hi,

I quit at the end of December and have gained 20lbs. I can't say I've stalled, cuz I havent started losing yet. They say that stopping smoking reduces the metabolism by 10% so I guess that would explain you're stall and my not losing yet. I'm not going to restart, then I would have gained those pounds for nothing and might never again be able to quit.

What I am doing is everything possible to boost my metablolism. Thing that will do that are cardio for at least 30 minutes a day, building muscle, some say caffeine, green tea and some other supplements that are available at nutrition shops.

Good for you for quitting, its sure one of the tougher things to do.
