Default Omgosh, I made the best Garlic 'bread'

I had a craving for garlic cheese toast. so, I thought - hum, let me try something. I put mozz. cheese in the frying pan w/ a touch of olive oil and sprinkled it w/ garlic. I let it cook until kinds crispy on the bottom. My goodness I had no idea how gooooood it would be! YUM. I didn't even notice I didn't have "bread" under the cheese. YUM. Very good! I had it with chicken salad mixed w/ Romaine lettuce. - in honor of another fave of mine. Lots of lettuce, nice fresh white bread and chicken salad. I tell you I didn't miss the bread again.

I made em with cheese sticks! One cheese stick and a bit of olive oil, then top with garlic and a little Mrs. Dash Garlic & herb and it was delicious! Have you tried making it with butter?

yeah.. thats the point. It will actually form a "crust" type thingy on the bottom. If you cut it thick enough, the bottom makes a crust while the top stays all cheesy.. it is soooo yummy!

I just tried this and it is so GOOD!! I was kinda skeptical because...well, because I'm always skeptical! It was really great though. Probably TOO great because I went back to the kitchen and made a second one..

Lightbulb Yummy!!!

This is really great! Gets rid of my craving for fried cheese sticks. I added a touch of butter and broken up turkey pepperoni. It is sooo yummy! I used peanut oil because that's all I had. I think olive oil will be better. Less of a burnt taste to it.

That recipe sounds awesome. I'm sorry, I'm kind of a cooking ignoramus. To get the right effect, do you you cook it w/ the pan very hot, so the bottom will get a lot crispier w/o toughening the top part of the cheese?

I just made these! Yummy!! Even dd and dh liked them.

I used Kraft string cheese. I found that frying them in olive oil until they become brown on one side, then taking them out and putting them on a plate for 30-45 seconds, then putting them back in the hot pan on the other side worked best to get both sides brown. Trying to turn in the pan, resulted in the cheese sliding off the crispy bit!!

I did like OP suggested and sprinkled with garlic powder. Very simple, very yummy!!!
