Terri, you'll find that most of us take the basics (a good multi vitamin, a calcium/magnesium combination, potassium and our anti oxidants - vit e&c). Some of us take other supplements for specific reasons: I take green tea extract because it is a powerful antioxidant and because it has thermogenic properties (raises metabolism). I also take glutamine because I workout and it helps with recovery and growth.

Here's a thread outlining the basics:

What supplements for LCing?

Atop this forum you'll see a sticky "Supplement Resources" - there are links to website where vits, minerals and other supplements are reviewed - it can be every useful.

Hey Nat

I can't find a "sticky" that says anything like that. Am I just blind or what?

Nah, I don't think you'd be typing if you were

Supplement resources

The links in the thread to supplementwatch and wholehealthmd both have vit/mineral/supplement review sections organized alpahbetically so you can get the low down on what everything does

Hi Terri - I pretty much follow what Nat lists above. In more detail though -
For my multivitamin I'm taking the Walgreen's brand version of GNC's Women's Ultra Mega (without Iron)
In addition, I also take 2 99mg Potassium supplements, 1 magnesium, a 500mg calcium and then an antioxidant (A,C,E) blend (all of these I just buy in the cheaper, generic section of my health food store).
Finally, I take 2 300 mg Green Tea extract supplements each day.
Best of luck!

I pretty much take green tea for two reasons:
1. It gives me a caffeine-like boost without drinking lots of coffee. It doesn't work wonders but has helped me to wean off of the mid-afternoon and early evening vats of coffee I used to get at Starbucks.
2. In the same vein, green tea is a mild thermogenic. It heps boost up your metabolism without shocking it with "wonder pills" like the ephedra products (i.e. Xenadrine, etc.) that are out there. In this way, Green Tea is a natural way to help keep things burning.

Good luck!

Default my suppliments

i try to get as many as naturally as possible...

and i grink a lot of green tea anyway

the main one i take is a little brewer's yeast each day. It is a good source of chromium which in turn helps increase the body's "tolerance" for glucose... aparently!
