Question Atkin Products

I've heard that bars and shakes aren't good for you but how about the baking stuff?

I think I saw a thread in the products forum by KarenB with reviews of products she has tried. Some keto products are there as I recall.

I think that anything that remotely resembles high carb garbage is bad for you. Why do you want to go there?

Smile Thanks

To be honest it was for my friend not me. I can't eat soy it makes me very sick. (Cured me of eating an Atkins bar by the 2nd bite)
Tony might be intolerant too... are all his products full of soy?
By the way, Karen. Another thing I like about this LC besides learning to cook is the real treat of enjoying real food again.
Steak and mushrooms have never tasted so good!

Hi Girls....
I've used Atkins bake mix to make muffins. I asked about it way back and was told it had no hidden carbs. I don't indulge often but I bake a batch and freeze them . Every once in a while when I want something different, I pop one in the microwave.
The zuchinni muffins (recipe from his new book) are yummy!!!

Question

I am concerned. I have been using the atkins advantage bars as meal replacements whenever needed. Are these really full of hidden carbs? I used the carb counter and found 20 grams per bar. Is this carbs that atkins has allowed for? I am really confused. I chose to order bars directly from Atkins because I felt that they would be the least risky! Help!!!!

Nope, those Atkins bars really ARE 20+ grams of carbs... if your body digests sugar alcohols and glycerine as carbohydrates. Legally, bar makers don't have to report sugar alchols or glycerine as carbohydrates, though.

Often, when people stall or start to gain, those bars are the culprit.

Read the articles in the Low Carb Tips section at the top of the page for info on sugar alcohols and hidden carbs.

Hello, I have a question. I just decided to start on Adkins. I bought 2 flavors of the shake mix. Does this work well? Have any tips?

Okay, I think I am getting this bar stuff!! Looking back, I do realize that one of the reasons I quit doing Atkins in the first place was because I stopped losing. And coincedentally enough, that was when I found the Atkins bars and shakes. I never put the two together. (Yes, I am a little slow on the uptake!) To be honest, I am quite upset about this. I understand that these are businesses that are trying to make money...but I know that I would have been much more willing to keep buying them if I thought they were for real! Oh well........

Thank you everyone for all of your quick responses!! I really appreciate it!
