Has anyone know the difference between the Insulin resistance diet and other low GI plans like Glucose Revolution? I have read some of the Glucose Revolution and I also just bought the "G-index Diet" but I was unable to find the IR diet book. I am interested in this concept of low GI but it is still confusing to me right at this moment.
I hope someone can help me ...LOL
Thanks,
Jen

Jen, from the main page here on your right, there should be a bar to click on "What diet is best for me" It compares most of the low carb diets. Hope that helps.

Hi Jen,

I don't know much about any of the other low GI diets, so I wouldn't be able to help you compare it with the IR diet. The IR diet is a great plan. It is a very liveable plan to follow.

It really would help if you could find the book. Have you checked your local library? The books explains so much about the diet. I orginally ordred my IR book from overstock.com It was under $10.00 and they only charged $1.00 for shipping. It might even be cheaper now.

I have only been back on the IR diet since Monday. I was on it last summer and I really did like it, but thought going back to CAD would be better, but it wasn't. I never thought any plan would be better then CAD, until I tried the IR diet.

I am a very slow slow looser because of my age. I am not a good example as far as someone losing tons of weight from this, or any other diet, come to mention it. If I don't stick to some kind of LC-ing then my weight will start to climb and I don't want to gain the 40 lbs that I worked so hard to get off.

If you have any questions pleease ask and I will try to answer them for you or someone else on the diet might be able to also.

I don't have any first hand info on the GI diet but have been doing the Insulin Resistance diet since Jan. I think the unique thing about the insulin resistance diet is the concept of "linking and balancing". Carbs are limited to 2 servings (30 grams) at a meal and you must balance each 15 grams of carbs with at least 7 grams of protein. Veggies, skim milk, beans, and some fruits can be eaten anytime without linking them to protein. I like the diet because it doesn't forbid even the worst carbs, you just have to limited them and balance them with protein.

Good luck
Christy
