Default How to move my son from high carb to low carb

Hi
I have a son who has always been in the lower percentiles for weight, so I have always tried to encourage carbs like pasta ect.he is very healthy and active.

Iwant to move him to our low carb diet as I think high fat/ protein is better for him but also makes the family eat the same things.

I am just a bit worried that I over do it as he doesn't have room to lose weight. I am also worried if I increase the fat/ protein without significantly reducing carbs that I will make him overweight

Does anyone have any advice?
