Default Follow Up Dr. Appt.

Well went to my follow up appt. I told him that I am having some good days but the bad ones are way outnumbering the good... He told me to stick with the Wellbutrin and I go back in 6 weeks but if things get worse to call him... He did change my sleeping pill medication... took me off sonata and is putting me on Ambien.. I will start that on Saturday... I think the lack of sleep is causing many of these problems... So I guess I will continue to play the waiting game until a couple more weeks and see what happens!

Hey there,

Changing meds is sometimes tricky. If you're changing them, it's because you are experiencing some downfall that is important enough to you to change the medication. And then it takes time: a) to sever from the first one and b) to get used to the new one can take awhile. Antidepressants, to my humble knowledge, is expected to demonstrate results in approx 3 weeks.

So here is your quest, in partnership with your doctor, to find the perfect balance for you. It's a good idea to write your progress and side effects in a journal to keep track of all of this so that when you see your doctor again, you can bring in facts and dates. That certainly helps.

Good luck with overcoming your depressive feelings as well as regulating your sleep.

Charlaine
