I am not new, but I might as well be...
I have been in and around this forum for 10+ years? I come and go. Right now I need to be here. I am 5'8" and have hit as high as 215 lbs. Currently I am about 205 lbs. So I need structure and discipline.
As I have aged I find food in general is less interesting, so I just graze on "easy" foods: Cup of Noodles, Snickers, Coke (water is not even part of my repretoire), frozen dinners (I have lost the desire to cook...), whatever is available and easy. I still eat beef, and try to tolerate chicken. I fish, but do not like to eat fish, so I catch and release. I am good at fishing, I could probably eat fish almost daily during the trout season. Pork is bacon and sausage.
When I am paying attention and fix a low carb meal, it is usualy rib-eye and salad with ham chuncks, diced boiled egg, ice berg lettuce (I despise the other lettuce options.), olives, tomato, avacado and bleu cheese dressing. I do get carb cravings. I am in a "cirular" diet where one day is pretty good, and the next day is Cheetos, Pop Tart and a Coke. Why I am not diabetic, well I could not tell you.
Exercise is a must, my neurosurgean chewed my arse Monday because I had quit exercising, so I pulled the clothes, that were hanging on my Soloflex, off and have used that Monday and Wednesday. Actually, aside from the post workout soreness, I feel good. I used to get "auto-accident" type pain (which started about ten years ago) and really made me cut back on any exercise. That seems to have passed, or whatever was causing it is gone.
I am back, and will be around. Hats off to all of you.
