Default LC Friends of Bill W.

Well if you know Bill W. and Dr. Bob then you already know a great deal about me. I thought it would be cool to have others to chat with that are LC and also friends of Bill and Bob, cause you know we sure know that "to much is never enough" and since I tend to emotion eat, it would be great to have the support!

Hi Tammie,
Welcome and Good Luck!
there is a great food addicts santuary here. I know there are many friendly people that know Bill W. and Dr. Bob.
Starting a journal is a great way to talk to lots of people here.
Right now I am reading some great books that I ordered from Hazelden.

HEYYYYYYYY!!

ME!!! ME!!!!

I'm a very active friend of Bill and Bob!!! I'm very program oriented! So much so that I have also found my low carb solution with the food the same way.

How long have you known them? It will be 3 years for me in January and I have 54 days of back to back abstinence form the food.

Right on Twacky awesome to meet you I have 5 years April 4th!
Yeah the program works great on everything!
Just alittle about me, 5 years ago I weighed 235lbs, after getting involved with Bob and Bill (sounds sleezy huh?), I got down to 145lbs, which is ideal (in my opinion) for me, after quitting smoking and surgery I gained about 25/30 back, and now I am back trying to get it of. According to your stats looks like you are doing great!!
So nice to meet you!

Default Intresting

Conversation is rather intresting,I met Bill W-Dr.BoB 9 yrs ago this june, they were extreemly infuentional in pointing the way to freedom, its allways amusing to me how someone can point out my character defects so clearly. There is a saying that goes 'THE truth will set you free" however, nowhere does it say anything about making me happy, that's optional it's what I choose today.

ok....I went to your beautiful topic on carb addiction paleoanth and I put in my version of part of Chapter 3.
Your original message was greta, but what I seen done so often, is people admit they have a problem with carbs, and then take it back. They (as well as I did for a long time) PURSUED THE ILLUSION THAT ONE DAY I COULD EAT LIKE A NORMAL PERSON.

Nothing else matters if you don't believe you have a problem with the food. Even the ones that do believe that the way they eat is abnormal, don't want to believe that the answer is to not eat those foods one day at a time.

It's equivelant to listening to someone killing themselves on Vodka and then a few months down the line saying....well it's a special occasion, I'll jump right back on tomorrow. Or...When they are stalled and want to carb up. That to me is like saying....Oh...I'm feeling in a slump with my recovery and perhaps I should just drink to jump start my program.

I have been doing this with crappy food. Oh it is my TOM and I am PMSIng-I will get back on as soon as my time is done. How stupid is that?

Thanks for the post. I needed this.

It would be so much easier if we could just learn from everybody elses mistakes huh? dang shame that method doesnt work for me. It is gonna sound weird, although I have no problem asking God to keep me off the ciggies and the poison, I have a difficult time asking to not overeat. Like some how that would be asking for something petty..silly isnt it.

Hi all,

25 yrs clean and sober. 6 years behind OA.
I lost all my weight in 8 months when I came
into program in '99, then backslid off the LC
program for 3 years til I took back 36 lbs.

I have now taken off 30 of that and another
6 or 10 pounds off and I will be a happy camper.

I just went to an OA Retreat last weekend and
I lost a lb. from all the good LC food they had there.
I pigged out on Bacon and Sausage and Chicken and
Brocolli and Cauliflower. Only cheat I had was a small
baked potato but that night they didn't have enough
protein for my appetite.

Low Carber for Life,
