Press Release

The North American Olive Oil Association Announces Simple Steps to Healthy Eating: It's as Easy as Re-thinking Your Grocery List:

Free Brochure Offers Consumer Health Tips

MATAWAN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2001--The North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA) has teamed up with registered Dietitian Joy Bauer -- named ``Best Nutritionist In New York City'' by New York Magazine - to create ``Simple Steps to Healthy Eating.''

This new brochure is based on Bauer's belief that improving one's diet is as simple as taking small steps that often result in a big improvement in the way one feels. One of those small steps is to replace saturated fat in the diet with monounsaturated fat, such as that found in olive oil. Rounding out the health advice is a quick and easy recipe for ``Roasted Asparagus and Orange Salad with Asparagus 'Fettucine.'''

To order a free copy of the full-color brochure, call the NAOOA hotline at 1-800-232-6548.

``We're pleased to offer practical information that helps consumers take those important first steps to forming healthier eating habits,'' said Richard Sullivan, NAOOA president. ``Making olive oil part of your every day diet is one of those healthy habits.''

Established in 1989, the NAOOA is a trade association of importers, marketers, and packers of olive oil in the United States and Canada as well as their respective suppliers abroad. The association's objectives are to supply North American consumers with top quality olive oil and to foster trade and consumer understanding of the benefits of olive oil.
