I have the exact same problem you do. The gum I chew is trident. It's lower in sugar, and cinnamon is my favorite kind, so it helps me when i get a craving of something sweet. what i do though is take a piece, but i break it in half. i use to chew about 4 full sticks a day (4g carbs). so, when i break it in half, i actually now chew 2 fulls sticks. it's lower in carbs, and plus it saves me money. i don't think they sell a completely sugar-free gum. i wish they did though.

Trident is actually a sugarless gum! If you look on the back, it says "Total Carb. - 1g" and then expands to "Sugars - 0g" and "Sugar Alcohol - 1g".

Because sugar alcohols do not affect blood sugar, you can safely chew on a stick of Trident without counting it as a carb. However, if you were to chew 3 or 4 full sticks, I'd wager you're probably getting a trace of effective carbs here-and-there and might count it as one gram.

I chew Trident as well (as it's the only gum endorsed by 4 out of 5 surveyed dentists and "may reduce the risk of tooth decay" if chewed after meals) but I prefer Original Flavor to Cinnamon.

Oh, thanks for telling me PurpleDawgs. I have a thing with gum..it has to be either cinnamon or spearmint. I could only find Trident in cinnamon, so that's what I chew.
