So clooooosssseeee again! I know I shouldn't do daily weighing, but it's helping with motivation right now seeing the downward trend.

We were planning our Thanksgiving dinner last night and I'm so worried about "gaining the loss."

G2----at recent Thanksgivings, my immediate family makes sure there is plenty of choices for me, including LC desserts. In the past, have often skipped that event in favor of my health because...

Historically, Thanksgiving is when Im most likely to go off the rails, so I hear your concern.

Haha I’ve been fluctuating too.. do love weighing everyday but lazy to update everyday. That 0.8lb must be frustrating but at least not a gain!

I do pretty well not going too far off the rails at Thanksgiving but I do eat some more carby traditional things. I do eat two things off-plan - corn because I'm allergic to peas and cranberry sauce. I've tried making cranberry sauce totally as low carb as I can but it's not worth it. I will also make a lowish-carb apple pie but not every year.

I was going to completely skip my birthday on Monday but my parents want to take me out to dinner on Monday night with my daughter. See I had wanted to start some really low carb diet or egg fast this weekend because I feel so out of control. My boyfriend and daughter will be away all weekend so I plan to organize my apartment and go to the gym but I don’t want to eat bad. Maybe I should either do low carb or protein shakes this weekend, or the egg fast, take a break Monday night and hop back on later that night or Tuesday morning. Tuesday would be 11/19 and my holiday party with work is 12/19 so I have 30 days to lose 20 pounds!

Geesh, just inching along here! So frustrating as I've been in ketosis doing strict Atkins induction, brisk-walking 2 miles daily, and doing 16/8 IF---weight should be falling off, what the heck! I gave up alcohol too, ya'd think THAT would be making a difference. But noooooo!

jschwab and Melilotus - Looking good on the weigh-ins!

Ooh, I've heard you can make a LC "apple" pie using SF apple cider mix and chayote squash as the apple sub. I love the Alpine Spice SF apple cider mix and have it as a sweet treat (4 carbs a serving).

Entropy39 - You have a solid start-up plan, just be sensible about the bday dinner---Happy Birthday BTW!---and "eat around" it, so to speak.

Thank you everyone for all the feedback. My birthday is Monday and my daughter is with my ex this weekend and my man friend/boyfriend is with his dad and one of his sons upstate. I was going to go to a broadway show by myself tonight but my parents invited me to dinner. I can always go to a matinee tomorrow. I think it is nice to spend time with my parents and I never see them I'm always working. I have been really enjoying the energy bites from my gym and I asked them what type of almond butter they use they said it is from a company called Peanut Co. and Peanut Co. makes almond butter and peanut butter products. I am not sure how many carbs are in them I should check. I love this time of year it is so wonderful and special. I am burning a candle and thinking about how much I love Thanksgiving and the holidays. I am so grateful for everyone in my life including this forum. thank you all. I will be turning 41 on Monday and I used to come to these rooms in my 20's. Now more than every it is important to use the internet to stay connected to support groups, etc. I used to go to a vision 4 you it is oa meetings online and phone and a bunch of other websites. Have a wonderful Saturday night! love, Entropy

Pizza and alcohol last night to undo a week's worth of hard work = dreading tomorrow's weigh-in, ugh.

That means the rest of you still have a chance to win this challenge---hahaha! And man, this one has been going on forever now---it's a reflection of how hard the WL struggle is!

Entropy39 - Hang in there, take deep breaths, and it's OK to get through it an hour at a time if you need to. Our 40s can be some of our best years, mine were (waaahhhh) pretty good. Enjoy the rest of your alone time today!
