I just received my first order of Carbquik and this was my first recipe. Did it with DaVinci Dulche de Luche syrup and used about 5 Mini Carb choco chips. Yum!!! Thanks for this simple and quick chocolate fix!

Just wanted to say that this recipe is wonderful! It makes such a BIG portion! Very very very satisfying when a sweet tooth hits.

I made this variation:

1/4 cup CQ
1/4 cup vanilla DaVinci's
1 TB chocolate Hoods
1 TB H&H
2 TB cocoa
1TB unsweetned coconut
.5 TB chopped pecans

I figure the whole thing is around 200 calories, which isn't bad at all considering the size.

Thanks for posting!

Ingredients:

1/4C Carbquik
1/4C SF Syrup (I used half Peppermint and half vanilla)
Some milk, cream, or half & half (maybe 2T)
2T unsweetened cocoa powder
A bit of sugar free chocolate, chopped with a knife until it is small chunks (has sugar alcohol) (I used maybe 1/2 an ounce or less -- next time I'll try unsweetened)

Mix together Carbquik and cocoa quite well, use the back of a spoon to break up any lumps.

Add 1/4C syrup and mix well. If it becomes too doughy, add in enough milk to make it less doughy and more like pancake batter.

Add in the chocolate chunks and stir again.

Microwave for about 2 minutes. The chocolate chunks will be melted on the bottom. It reminded me of a chocolate lava cake or brownie. Eat it hot!

Hello, thankyou so much for the recipe, do you know where I could find carb quick? thanks, Gina

I was afraid to try this because I didn't want to waste 1/4 cup of syrup if I didn't like it. It was awesome! I used minicarb SA free chocolate chips and all vanilla syrup. Just perfect. My only problem now is that I'm going to think I'm entitled to this every night.

I love that it's a single serving. If I have 8 scones hanging around, I always feel like I have to have 2 per day so they don't go to waste!

Anyone have the carb / calorie count worked out before I bother entering CQ and everything into FitDay?

I went ahead and entered it cause I really like to know how many calories I'm eating. It's a bit high, but not as bad as the scones.. and I always ate 2 of those. I'm satisfied after one serving of this.

Carbs: 5
Calories: 213 PLUS whatever chocolate chips/chunks you use.

I was using 8-10 chips, so that's about... 30 calories. I tried it last night with sugar free chocolate syrup -- that was fine, too. I only needed 8-10 drops of syrup, which is nowhere near the 25 calorie/2 TBSP serving size.

I've also tried peanut butter (whoever asked if that would be good... yes, quite yummy).
