Default Quick question...

Well, first of all I would like to greet everyone, since this is my first post and have been reading up and am liking what has been going on. For lent, I decided to treat myself well and finally lose the weight and keep it down. I have dropped 10lb from 2/16/04-2/22/04 and I love it, my school pants are actually getting lose and I love the feel.

I have also decided to join lacrosse so I can get the running done every day and will go to the gym and tone up and get defenition on weekends.

Now my question is, being Lent, and that I am a Catholic, no meat is allowed on fasting days...So what can I eat? I don't like sea food, and can only think of eggs and cheese to eat, or veggie omelets, and salads. Any other suggestions? Also - I have been intaking 20-50g of carbs daily, would that be too much? I appreciate your help and I hope to find a home here at this forum! Thanks in advance!

Welcome darkscythe, I'm not Catholic so My ideas may not be the best. Have you checked ot the kitchen forum near the bottom of the home page? How 'bout eggplant dipped in egg, coated with parmesan and fried in butter?

There are many vegetarian low-carbers, so maybe get some ideas from them. Try the search function at the top.

You might look into Atkins for life. If you are playing Lacrosse and regularly working out, you can probably handle higher carbs.

Check out the recipe foums on here, and also check online for low carb vegatarian recipes. You will need to make sure to get protien, so probably soy beans in various forms and tofu.

Try the mock mac and cheese. It's a tofu base, but it's amazing. I don't make it b ecqause it's so addicting I want to eat it all in one setting.
