Default Acupressure and detox support

I've been on LC/anti-candida diet for about 2.5 months with some success in the weight loss department. I was wondering if anyone has been having acupuncture or acupressure during their LC diets? I have a great acupuncturist who I see every month or so and she is consistently commenting on how overloaded with toxins my liver and kidneys are. She treats both each month after which the weigh loss starts again. The last couple of days I've been doing acupressure in the key points she uses and am noticing less strain in the liver and kidney areas. Has anyone else experienced this?

My wife's a TCM Doctor and for a detox, we use food only. It consists of blended fruits & vegetables and we consume just that for 3 days when we want to do this, but when eating the right way, this is not important to do very often.

What strain did you feel in the liver or kidney area that is releived by acupressure?

How does your acupuncturist test for toxins in your liver and kidney?

There are great exercises that improve all organ functions. Look into Qigong exercises. There are many easy to follow videos on Youtube that you might find interesting, but they may not point out which exercises benefit what aspect of health you're interested in so you might try googling and see if you can get some info that way. If your acupuncturist is Chinese, she might be able to give you some Qigong exercises to do....

My wife says acupuncture can be effective to make our blood flow better through our organs thereby improving the functions of those organs, but it is safer and more effective to do it with diet.

My wife's famous saying: If we eat the wrong way, a Doctor can't help us. If we eat the right way, we don't need a Doctor....

I should have said that the acupuncturist is treating me for flows of or lack of energy to the certain organs - Kidneys and Liver specifically at the moment. I guess because they are having a hard time processing toxins from my weight loss and anti-candida diet. I am making a lot of progress using diet only with a few supplements for minerals and vitamins that I can't get enough of because of the restrictions. Can't eat fruit/sugars at all, nor grains, dairy etc as it feeds the candida and I tend to react to that process as well. I would to be honest trust my acupuncturist with my life. She helped my body through the pregnancy of my son. I had obstetric cholestasis and border line diabetes. With diet, supplements (especially milk thistle) and her sessions we managed to bring my levels down to well below the cut off... quite impressive according to the doctor who was following me. I suppose sometimes intervention is needed. I try absolutely to stay well away from toxins, environmental, medical and dietary... but still I must be harbouring a lot from my years of bad eating!!

I'll take a look at the Qigong exercises. My acupuncturist is English but she advocates yoga and meditation, which I am using.

Thanks for all your advise. Any more you might have is very welcome!

I trust my wife (TCM Dr) with my life too, so I understand that. My wife is Chinese and English terms are limited with her, but I'll convert Candida, obstretric cholestasis into Chinese and then discuss your situation with her. I think your acupuncture is ok, but I'll see if my wife has any dietary suggestions, or herb suggestions that might help you rid yourself of candida and allow you to eliminate those food exclusions.

The best thing we're doing that we share in common is that we are taking control and responsibility for our own health....
