Is it high protein or high fat that make for success?
I'm back on Atkins after a stressed out year with major family problems where I couldn't seem to stick to anything. I have lots of Thanksiving turkey left that's high protein but not high fat. If I eat mostly this turkey on induction will I lose, or do I have to have a lot of fat in my diet?
I have read the book , and am by no means an expert when it comes to all the legalities on eating low carb. I do however believe its fine to eat all that turkey . You do want to get as much fat as possible. The dark meat is higher fat than the white meat. You could eat other meats at other meals. And your snacks, such as cheese, are fattening.

The turkey is great, get your fats from others source, such as butter on veggies, salad oils, avocado is a super way.
I have purposely avoided the high fat meats on this diet, rarely eat bacon or sausage, only nitrite free or turkey bacon, when I do and I managed to surpass my goal eating that way.
Good Luck Kathy
This sounds weird but when you reheat your turkey in the microwave try adding a couple of pats of butter to it. I find when I nuke meat it gets really dry and the butter helps-- it's really good for reheating steak. Nice and moist and a good way to get some fats in too!

I find that it all balances out...
I made turkey salad with some of the leftovers, the mayo adds fat. Yesterday it was white meat on salad... some days just turn out "fattier" than others!
As long as the carbs are low, the rest will all work out!
I made a big green salad (lettuce, red pepper, cucumber), cut up left-over turkey on top of it, and then dressed it with olive oil and red wine vinegar -- tasty, healthy, and both high fat and high protein.
