Default 30 day blood sugar solution, day 1

Readers of this forum have already found low carb to be an effective solution to blood sugar, but noticed that Dr. Mark Hyman is starting this 30 day information series on a multi faceted approach to sugar control. He is trying to sell his book of course, but this challenge is free. Last month, he joined Dr. Davis in deciding that wheat itself may be a problem in our diets, and he is generally an advocate of a lower carb lifestyle with more vegetables and real foods. Doubt if I would change my eating, but thought it might be interesting to hear the video series.

I think we're going to see a lot more recognition of low carb as an effective diabetes strategy, although it will still be packaged with a lot of other misinformation (they won't generally recommend high saturated fat or more salt along with it, for example, and they'll still package it with low calorie blather).

A friend just told me she saw Dr. Hyman on CBS Morning News. He did get in that bread and pasta are not real food, but two flakey talking heads complained ..horrors, no bread. Oh well, he's out there this month, maybe some other interviewers will be more respectful and try to learn what can be done to regulate insulin.

I'm finally getting my brain around the need to recognize that everything I ingest will react on my blood glucose and control the way I feel. I KNOW that, but acting on it has been a challenge.

I am still learning. I've just bought "the bible" by Dr. Bernstein and hope to learn some immediately affective strategies. I know that I have to keep carbs far, far away. Learned that already. Now what I want to learn is exactly how to finely manipulate my food to control that blood glucose.

Thank heaven, I like to learn!
