Default Homemade Pancake!

This is so delicious. You could either use flaxseed meal or pysllium husk. Both known to help overcome constipation problem during the beginning of a low carb diet:

1 tbsp of flaxseed meal/pysllium husk
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 packet of Splenda

Mix all well in a bowl and let it stand for 5 mins. Heat the pan and put in a dash of butter. Pour in the mix and brown both sides.

Top your pancake with heavy cream and your ready in heaven

cheers

Bump! This is so good. I've made it four times now. It's great in the morning, because it keeps me full through lunch.

I am not sure, but most flaxmeals list the carb and fiber count as almost equal, thus a net zero carb. I would be willing to bet that one of these is 1, maybe 2 carbs at the most and that would be with the heavy cream....

Oops. Sorry I missed the carb count question. I enter almost all of the recipes I try into My P.L.A.N.

For the entire recipe made with flaxseed, not including sweetener:

112 calories, 4.34 g total carbs, 2.58 g fiber, 1.76 g net carbs, 7.7 g protein, 7.39 g fat

Add .9 to the net carb count if you use 1 packet or 2 teaspoons granular Splenda (1/2 packet is not sweet enough IMO).

You are right 1/2 packet is not sweet enough .. I use 1 packet for this and instead of whipped cream I add a little of sugar free syrup

2 tbsp. walnuts, 2 tbsp. fresh blueberries, a splas of Sugar free Hazelnut coffee creamer. This pancake was absolutely delishious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to try many variations such as:
3 turkey links 140 calories cooked and diced into bits with a little onion, bellpepper, and 1 scrambled egg, 1/4c. 2% cheddar cheese. Allow the sausage and eggs to cool then then add them to the original flaxseed batter (double the batter) then add the cheese. You could bake these in mini muffin pans or cook as a pancake. This would make at least 2-3 pancakes.
Save the others for the next day or a meal on the run.

I tried this today and added some protein powder to it (probably a little too much) and put some zucchini applesauce on it. It was very good. I love pancakes with applesauce and sour cream so this will be a staple for me.

Thanks.

I ate this for breakfast for what must've been the tenth time. This time I added some Walden Farms chocolate syrup to the batter.

I made this today for breakfast, added extra spices and used a couple of drops of Sweetzfree instead of the Splenda packet. Slathered with butter and a dollop of Smucker's SF Strawberry topping - all I can say is YUMMMMMYYYYY!! This was so filling, too! I might try 1/2 flax, 1/2 coconut flour next time. I will definitely be making this again!!!

DH and I have been having it along with an egg for breakfast. I like it because it is easy and takes good. I have been using the liquid splenda as well.
