ROFLMAO! I much prefer cardio outside on my bike or blades. I dread the thought of winter cardio on the treadmill.

Hey ladies, you need to learn how to cross country skii!

It's so much fun, never ever boring, and burns a shit load of calories.

Winter treadmill isn't a patch on gliding gracefully along a beautful wooded trail in the bright sun, with the dog gleefully rolling in the snow and sniffing frozen doggie pee....

LOL, that would require LIKING cold weather! Actually, I did like winter better when I used to figure skate and cross-country/downhill ski. Now I spend my winters hibernating.

Maggie, where you live, it's a good thing you like winter sports.

Yes, winter is an acquired taste, definately

It's actually my favorite season, I love everything about it

It's amazing how hard you can work outside, and not have it 'feel' like you're working hard.

I guess it would be a bit hard in San Fransisco. Cross country ski machine in the yard? LOL!

Hey Lift! Hi Wanda, Maggie!

Cardio sucks. I used to love it though, now I can't wait for weight training days. It could be because I get to eat more food too.

Winter on the other hand I will never acquire the taste for.

Hi Red

I know I'm a never ending source of irritation for those who 'hate' winter.

Nights by the fire, glass of wine in hand, the snow shining outside in the moonlight, after a long ski with my headlamp.

Life doesn't get better!

DB...girl you are able to use 2, 45lbs dumbells on your incline presses...that is friggin impressive, most men I see have trouble with that weight

Well, I WAS able to do that 2 weeks ago....but apparently, not anymore. I`m back to my 30s. Whatever....the definition is beginning to pop in my biceps and pectorals a little, so I`m not complaining. The power-lifters can keep their high numbers.
I`m in this for health and vanity.

Thanks for the compliment tho!

I have to compliment you on your willing your way through that. My mind is wandering just thinking about 45 minutes of cardio. Uggh.

I wonder if it isn`t cuz it feels like a waste of time?? I`m not getting anything done while I`m up there huffing and sweating. I could be doing laundry, reading for school, freakin' painting my toenails for that matter.... It`s 20-45 minutes of my life that I`m literally getting nowhere. Hmmph.

well damn girl I feel like a weakling. Do you TD there to spot you...that has been my problem, I can get the 35's up most of the time but sometimes it is hard without a spotter...how long did it take you to get to that weight.

Dan definitely spots me if I`m lifting 40-45 dbs. I`m ok on my own with the 30s. It`s taken me since I started seriously lifting to get to this weight-- which is not that long actually-- about 5 months of 4-5 days a week of weight training.

I suspect that I may use a little too much shoulder in my incline press though....I can`t do flyes with the 40-45s for sure!! I usually use 25s for flyes, but i`m moving to 30s next week.

I`m getting a little concerned about my weights though because I am making such quick incremental leaps. While my muscles are good with the weights, my wrists are beginning to take a beating, which is holding me back. I`m gonna have to start wrapping soon.
