I havent...
But a good replacement "copycat", is "sugar free sobe arush", which is available all over in my area. Tastes pretty good, and it kept me alive on long driving trips for my work.

There is sugar free Red Bull but you can only get it in the US right now. It's like a light blue can instead of the navy blue. Tastes exactly the same.

Ummm, what exactly is Red Bull, I've heard of it before, usually in connection with Britney Spears, apparently she loves the stuff.

Is it a soft drink or an alcoholic beverage?

Red Bull is an "energy drink" soft drink that contains something called "Taurine" - a stimulant of some sort that's supposed to help you stay awake, alert, etc. Somtehing like Ginsing I suspect. Red Bull & Vodka is a popular drink among twenty-somethings, for obvious reasons. The regular variety is full of sugar, but there's also a sugarfree that it seems is not available in Canada.

Sorry, I can't remember exact carb count; but under 10 I think. I have a snowbird bringing me up some from the states in a few weeks - I'll post the carb-count then.

Before taking Red Bull or putting Red Bull in Vodka or do any mix with it, you should read first. Red Bull Is Under Investigation

Default power drinks in Canada

Not yet. The US Version contains ingredients that aren't legal in carbonated drinks in Canada (such as B-vitamins, don't ask me why the rules are that way but they are) and certain amino acids...L-Carnitine is one I think. So the company would have to modify the formulation AND the label to sell it in Canada.

The SF Red Bull also contains aspartame and ace-K as the sweeteners.

The new (found it in Thrifty Foods in Colwood Corners) SOBE ARush Sugarfree in the black can is very very good, and is sweetened with sucralose (Splenda), contains Guarana, Caffeine, Taurine, d-Ribose, Inositol, B6, B12 (not actually carbonated). Good solid citrus flavour.

And there's also XS-Drink, comes in at least 3 flavours, and has been available in Canada for at least a year, sweetened with Splenda. Can't get it in the stores, but can get it from direct distributors online.

BTW, 1.99 for a small can is actually a very good price, it's not plain sodapop, it's supplemented. In the US, if you can find it for 1.99 USD that's also considered pretty good price.

My son and I saw it at Walmart here in Hamilton. I remembered it because he asked me what Red Bull was. I said I had no idea and didn't look to see if it was diet. I can check for you when I go there this weekend.
