Default Olive oil mayo (UK)

I use store bought mayonnaise but I don't like the fact it's full of rapeseed/sunflower oil.

I once saw some that was made out of olive oil but I can't remember what brand it was and can't seem to find any on the shelves.

So, does anyone know of any mayo made out of olive oil that's sold in the UK?

TIA

Oh, and preferably totally sugar free if possible.

This is to use at work, so home made isn't convenient.

You can get Tesco Finest olive oil obviously at tesco! I buy mine from waitrose, its their own brand made with olive oil and i really like it.

I'm not in the UK, so this may or may not apply...

But make sure you check ingredients on olive oil mayo. (Which probably goes without saying ) All the olive oil mayos I've seen here list either canola, soy or some other oil as the first ingredient and then olive oil as either the second or the third... as if it's an afterthought just so they can claim it as olive oil mayo.

Just something I noticed and wanted to pass along as an FYI...

Yeah, you're right

Ah well that is tesco for you!

The Waitrose one has 72% vegetable oil and 5% olive oil, have to admit i've only checked the sugar before which is low down on these ingredients. I've been using it for a long time and it is my favourite commercial mayo, can't stand the taste of hellmans now.

Ah well, thanks anyway daisyboo. I might try the tesco one as I'm getting rather sick of the taste of Hellmans anyway, but I wanted to see if I could totally avoid the oils.

I might have been dreaming about the 100% olive oil mayo, unless any of the more obscure brands like Stokes do it.

If you have a blender, food processor, or electric mixer, it's really easy to make mayo at home. All it is is an emulsion of eggs and oil. Just put the eggs in the blender jar, add a little mustard if you like. Set the blender to low speed, and turn it on to "Blend." With the blender running, add the oil very slowly through the opening in the lid of the blender jar. Be sure to add the oil extremely slowly, starting with just a few drops at a time. Don't overblend it or the oil will separate again. Stir in a bit of lemon juice or vinegar if you want it a little tangier.

Some people use only the yolks of the eggs when they make mayo, but I've always used the whole egg.

I don't have any of those, unfortunately, and this is mayo to store at work anyway and it would be useful to have something that'll not go off that quickly.
