Default Could we please have a separate area for STILLMAN'S?

Dear whoever,

there seems to be a revival of interest in the Stillmans diet - especially with people doing the 'back to basics' challenge. At the moment information on Stillamans is spread everywhere or in the 'plans comparason' area.

I realise Stillmans is a contravertial diet, but it is low carb (very low carb) and it would be good to have an area to swap recipies and experiences - especially for the people like me trying it on the short term.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Robert (3rd day on Stillmans)

hi Robert,

The Stillman QWL diet is often used by low-carbers following other published programs to break a stall, or to induce ketosis .. it certainly is a viable alternative to Atkins' fat fast. However, in 2½ years, I've only seen 2 or 3 members who intended to follow Stillman as their long-term weight loss program. As a long-term diet, Stillman's QWL is very low in calories and fat, and the Stay Slim maintenance part of the plan is also fat- and calorie-restricted .. and high in carbs.

The problem is ... Stillman's book "The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet" has been out of print for decades, and very difficult for anyone to find. There are a few places around the internet, including our forums, where there's a brief outline of basic instructions, but that hardly constitutes the whole program. Having a published book that's available to all for independent reading and reference is an absolute requirement before we will open a support forum, in addition to there being enough interest and sustained activity to justify the space.

That being said, you're right .. there's definitely interest in Stillman's QWL diet as a stall-buster. Perhaps it would be helpful to start up a thread devoted to discussing the Stillman diet, in the Tips and Stalls forum.

Thanks for the reply Doreen. Mmmm, so the problem is lack of a book - interesting.
