Default related info on Discovery Channel

Discovery network just ran a long program this week, a tie in with the new animated movie Ice Age, called Real Beasts of the Ice Age The paleo part was their examination of a fictional Australopithecine tribe...they talked (to my great delight! made me look up from the work I had taken home and actually listen!) about the relationship between meat eating and the evolution of intelligence, how the former drove the latter--both the theories about the inverse relationship between gut length and cerebral cortex size and the theories about how throwing weapons to kill meat helped our ancestors' brains develop.

If you're interested on reading more on these theories, there is info at www.beyondveg.com and more at Wm. Calvin's website...and of course you could do an internet search.

Smile Caveman Diet

Hi Razzle,

Thanks for your information. I found the William H. Calvin site and intend to search it thoroughly. It looks very interesting. The link is:

William H. Calvin Books and Articles.

You may have missed my post about eating beef. I have references and link there also about the Paleolithic peoples diet.
