Same here, less than 100 grams a day is low carb in my book.

Although I take 5% of total calories and it only comes out to 30-35 grams a day.

I think there are more than 1 possible answers:
Low-Carb plans means, in my opinion, ZERO refined carbs. This is the #1 and Universal law.

Then, there are some critical factors to adapt each diet to each person: genotype, bloodtype, metabolic type, food allergies, intolerances, health problems... This is the #2 Law, the Person Case

Excellent rough definition.

In addition to that I would add unprocessed and unrefined food with a natural high glycemic index, like pineapple, bananas and grapes.
