Hi all

Thought i'd introduce myself

I am 21 years old, live in Australia and about to get married in 3 weeks

Im not overweight (about 136 pounds before i started CAD) but my problem is that i have go on so many different diets in my young life (have watched my mother do the same from a young age) my body is totally confused, as is my head about what is actually a healthy way to eat and live

i have tried CAD before with great success (although being a bit of a partier spread my alcohol out over the hour) however, i have fell prey to wordly 'sensible eating' plans like WW and Jenny craig and have tried to 'make it work' for me. Well as im sure many of you know, i cant do it! I cant eat small meals all through the day or count points of everything i eat I HATE IT!!!

CAD is the ONLY thing i can stick to, and this time im going to keep the alcohol within my reward times strictly!! even on my hens night (ohh that could be tricky,,,any tips??).

I would like to lose about 6-8 pounds,,ive put my goal weight at 130,, 128-130 is where i would be most happy. I work out a lot at the gym so have quite a bit of muscle,,,so getting to the low 120's is just not maintainable for me

Anyway enough of my ranting,,,you all seem like a great bunch and i just want to be part of what you have got going

Abby

Welcome to the ranks of the CADettes!!!

Re alcohol. You might want to set a limit on drinks that fit in the hour and then switch to soda water. No one will know but you.

Hi Abby - Congrats also!!! Welcome to our little place on this board. We are a friendly bunch and try to answer questions as best we can.

Reading your note, I would have to say CAD or CALP is your best bet. For the same reasons, it suits me best as well. I tried Atkins, but my cravings for sweet things would always derail. I would make a treat and since there were no rules as to when one can eat - I would nibble it at various times of the day and then my blood sugars and insulin would go out of whack is my guess, as my appetite would run away with me. I want to lose about the same amount of weight as you do. So here goes... All the best to you!
