Question Bacon

Can anyone help me find sugar free bacon in Australia??? I can really taste the sugar in the stuff I have been buying. I don't want to give bacon up - it is one of the best things about this WOE - but i am worried that I am going to have to if I want to do this seriously.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want, you can boil your bacon briefly pat it dry then cook it normally. Apparently this gets rid of the sugar. Never tried it myself so I can't tell you if this works for sure.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't found any SF bacon here.
At first I asked everywhere, now I only occasionally eat bacon, so I just eat it as it is.
I do sometimes boil it briefly as Reymi suggested, but I do that to cut down the salt. I can't see why it shouldn't also get rid of at least some of the sugar. Certainly worth a try!

Angry Sugar In Bacon My Ass

There is zero sugar in the bacon you buy from Coles or the butcher, unless its the pre packed crap.

Phill, the bacon that comes from my butcher does have sugar in it. So says the butcher! It's a relatively small amount, but it is there.

Whether or not you meant it that way, your post comes across as almost accusing - we try to help and support one another here.

I saw heaps of bacon at coles today that had less than 1g of carbs for a 100g portion. I didn't see if there was any sugar added, but if so less than 1g in 100g is nothing!
