Default Love B-Bque ribs from Chinese Restaurant?

Without the extra b-bque sauce. I can eat them everyday. What do you guys think the carb count is? 5 ribs (medium)

Wow - that would be hard to know without knowing such variables as:
1-does the chinese rest. coat them with sauce before cooking them?
2-is the bbq flavoring on the meat (without sauce) just wood cooked meat or anything additional?
3-If it is just meat that was wood smoked for flavoring, then I would say 0 carbs but you have to try to find out what they put on the meat before the bbq sauce is added (if anything).

If the ribs are coated with any sort of sauce while cooking that would make a huge difference in the carb count. Ribs, plain, have 0 carbs. However, BBQ sauce/flavoring can range anywhere from 5-13 carbs per/ 2 tbsps.

You might want to ask what they use...

Default Chinese Food Is A Tough One!

I find chinese food is a bit challenging on Atkins. We used to frequent a Chinese buffet in our area - kids loved it...had lots of variety including salads, roast beef, and desserts.

Since on Atkins (8 weeks) we have not eaten there as I was unsure of what to eat, and did not want to be tempted too much (and they have great garlic/sweet spareribs!).

After following this WOE for this long I think I may be able to handle it now, and will consider going back. The salad bar would okay as a first stop...I will need to avoid the dessert and ice cream area and then be very selective for the rest.

They have roast beef, roast salmon, chicken and shrimp skewers, stir fried veggies...those would probably be okay.. I would need to be more careful with the other "chinese" dishes such as the beef and brocolli and chicken chow mein to make sure there is no sugar or starches in the sauces. Also most stuff is high sodium so have to prepare for some water retention the next day???
