Default Fat Fast = Anxiety?

I've been on a sort of fat fast recently and keeping my carbs to near 0.....Ketosis sticks are dark purple, glucose levels in the mid 60's, but I am having a lot of anxiety! Are these events related!?

If so, is it possible to overdue it? (drive sugar too low)

If your ketostix are dark purple you need to be drinking more water!! I'm not sure if thats the cause of anxiety - could it be that you simply have more energy???? Cos I find that when I'm in ketosis

I work with a guy who wears an insulin pump and a blood glucose monitor at work (poor guy...). He'll be in the middle of a job and stop when he starts feeling anxious or agitated. He'll check his monitor and say "Yep, 50, thought so..." and head for the snack machine.

If you're feeling strange with your blood glucose at 60, you might want to increase the carbs a little with some vegetables. Dr. Atkins said, "It's the Fat Fast for the fat fast. It's not for those who want to lose fat fast."

I swim in water all day, yet my sticks are deep purple when I get home from work, my most active part of the day. They are usually pink when I get up in the morning. I wouldn't stress over the sticks too much.

I'm not a doctor or nutritionist. My advice is worth what you paid for it

I've had anxiety attacks before I cut out carbs and then had BG go to a steady 67mg/dl, and during, and after where BG is at a steady 100mg/dl. I don't think BG and anxiety are related. Now I do believe anxiety is related to hormones, but which one I can't say exactly. Could be serotonin, epinephrine, endomorphins, things that alter our state of mind basically. Neurotransmitters:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurotransmitter

I checked the Wiki page for anxiety. Basically it says the problem is all in our mind, i.e. psychological. As if psychology was independent of physiology. So the list of "treatments" is all about psych tricks.

If I looked for a solution, I'd look at those neurotransmitters first. I'd check to see if I could figure out a way to make them work better somehow. Also, I think it's possible certain conditions can alter our state of mind. For example, multiple sclerosis, scurvy and tuberculosis, each have certain associated typical personality. Scurvy for example, it's cynicism (if I'm not mistaken), you know a FTW attitude. Maybe anxiety is associated with certain conditions like that, but I wouldn't know where to look. Maybe certain nutrient deficiencies related to those neurotransmitters.
