Unhappy Diarhea

I've been on the Atkins plan for a almost a week, up until yesterday I hadn't moved my bowels. Unfortunately they were loose. The4 same problem today. I drink 64oz's of water everyday. Is this normal?

Thanks for listening to such a personal question!

I think you are fine with the water. That's not your problem. Our family has had a little diarrhea bug this last week. I've been on Atkins since Feb. and haven't had diarrhea until this week. If you continue to have loose stools on Atkins, you might try cutting out some possible sources such as sausage. Dallasalis

I had that problem for the first 9 days of Induction. Hang in there, your body will eventually get used to the change in your diet. You might want to take some fiber... I do every day and it has really helped. Many people take fiber to help with constipation, but it also works for the "other" by absorbing extra water.

If you're using Splenda, double-check that you are not over-doing it. For some people, it can be a problem. I thought I was in heaven when I discovered it, only to find that I am one of the few people who cannot tolerate it. I was using quite a bit at first (a no-no) and it made me terribly sick -- running to the bathroom at least 20 times a day and all night. I cut the Splenda from my diet completely and recovered as if by magic. So, about two weeks later, I added it back to my diet (a tiny bit) and immediately got sick again.

I hope this is not your problem, but it's worth checking out.

I am so envious of those who can use Splenda -- it tastes so good!

Default I had this too

And its now calming down on day 8. You might also have a little dairy sensitivity, as I do, so watch the cream and stuff.
