Default Will CKD be effective for a regular lc'er?

I am posting this question for another person who is curious to know the following:
***
Finally got my book - wow, lots of heavy reading. It'll take forever to wade through it all so who knows when I can actually start the diet. I can't tell if it will work for someone who's been LCing as long as I have. I've been at 30 carbs for 4 years with very little deviation. The book seems to be addressing people who haven't done a ketogenic diet at all - or at least people who haven't been at it as long as I have. He mentions once you've been LCing for several weeks your body will have a hard time using carbs for fuel in the beginning. So where does that leave someone
who' s been at it 4 years - will CKD do any good for me? Any thoughts out there???
***

What do you all have to say? I say she has a good chance if she starts a carb up first for 36 hours and then starts a more intense routine of 4-5 days of cardio, weights 3 times week. But I am a beginner so I could be wrong about this. Please advise.

-Hmm, good question. I think that she should start with a 'Isocaloric Diet' or something similar to it (for 4-6 weeks). That way, her body can get used to assimilating carbohydrates better. On another note- I don't see why a 'CKD' wouldn't be effective for her. I think it is quite different than a 'SKD'.
