Welcome newbies. Hum-You're near me. My Grandparents (Father's side) lived in New York so I grew up with picts every year at the falls.

I have been sitting up for longer periods of time every day I wish getting better was quicker than this.

Feel like I'm talking to myself. Tryed to catch up my bills and paper work, today. I felt like I was way behind in doing this, actually I am not late with anything except one.

I'm Trying to figure out a way to list belly measurement goals instead of weight measurement goal signatures.

Nope, I'm listening, Chanteyl... I just don't have anything much to say at the moment.

I'm sorry you are having a slow recovery. I wasn't here where you had your issue .. what happened?

Hope everyone had a nice 4th.
Weather was beautiful here.
Neighbors set off fireworks.
I sat on the porch and enjoyed them.
DH and our dog helped set them off.
It's so strange he is not afraid at all and wanted to help light each and every one of them.
Now just listening to Willie Nelson and catching up on emails, ect.

Hi all, We had a quiet 4th except that everyone in the neighborhood let off fire crackers. Sorry you are having a slow recovery Chanteyl, it sucks to get sick in the summer. It sounds like you had a great 4th N2L. We didn't go to town because the traffic would have been awful. So watched the fireworks on tv. Had a great food day yesterday only had about 15 carbs. We had pizza last night, but I only ate the top. Well I have to get going, everyone have a great day

jmh, your walk up the mountain to the lake sounds delightful. So sorry about the loss of your kitty. We have 4, two were mine and two were DH. When we married a little over 2 years ago, we became a 4 cat household.

hum, looks like you and I are the newbies here.

Chanteyl, I often talk to myself LOL

N2L, oh man Willie Nelson. Years ago, I had the Red Headed Stranger album, yup, vinyl.

I walked this morning just at day break on a trail that used to be a RR line. I had dropped my son off at the airport and this was on the way home. It was a last minute thought because I didn't have my walking shoes on, only my Birkenstock look-a-likes.

Flu, in the summertime. solid week in bed. First time I've had the flu in years. I don't usually get flu.

A newly opened bottle of laundry soap I left it on the edge of the washer and it started vibrating and new laundry soap is all over the floor, whole house smells like soap.

Good morning ladies it is 7:57 AM. I got up at 4:00 and decided that my running days are past. It is too hard on my joints, so I took a power walk. Will be doing my yoga later on this morning.I hope you recover soon Chanteyl. it is frustrating to lose a box of laundry soap like that. Yes I haven't been posting on this thread very long. I just found it a couple of weeks ago. it seems nice to talk to someone my age. 4 kitties is alot of responsibility. But they are entertaining and well worth the effort. My hubby wants a dog, so we might be a dog and cat family. I am thinking about getting another kitty. Speaking of Vinyl Records I never got rid of mine, so I have quite a collection. I stayed lowcarb yesterday only had around 20 carbs, but the food wasn't satisfying, so today i am going to get some quality fat and protein. Everyone have a great day

Good Morning from hot and humid East Tennessee.
A walk is as good as a run per the experts in walking magazine.
When I walk it is a pleasure as you see the little changes each and everyday throughout the seasons.
Did some stretching exercises earlier.
I too have all my vinyl records all the way back to my 78s, 45s, 33s.
I have a record player that plays them all and when I'm home alone let the music play all day.
I can still dance to that kind of music and it lifts my mood.
I had chicken wings last night with garlic not BBQ sauce.
They were so good.
Might just have some more, lol.
Y'all have a nice day.

Chan, icky flu. I hope you are feeling better.

jmh, WTG with power walking and yoga.

N2L, what is a Widow Maker that is mentioned in your siggy? There is a walking magazine?

I walked this morning too for an hour with Exerstrider walking poles. I use My Fitness Pal and there is a list of exercises to pick from. None mention walking with poles but there is Walking with Crutches. I figured, close enough LOL.

Hi Guys---I have Montezum's Revengeing since 7/3 so I'm finally sitting down and taking it easy. 4th was quiet. We shampooed the carpet and before that W finished the ceiling-roof repair. We now have a white ceiling and roof without mold. It was in one of our living room slide outs (3' X 15'). We feel better without the mold. Take care and buy toilet paper...Someday winter is coming!! myrt

Bugujo,
I copied this from off the web, it explains better than I could have done.

"The term "widow maker" refers to a specific type of heart attack that is known to have grave consequences. It is called this because those who suffer one often die, and the wives of affected men therefore often become widows. The condition is caused by a blockage in a blood vessel called the left anterior descending (LAD) artery, which normally supplies the muscle of the heart. Although patients who develop this condition can be treated, some develop heart failure or fatal heart arrhythmias despite these therapies."

My favorite walking magazine is by Prevention.
There are many different magazines that put out a walking edition.
I find them in my supermarket and at Books A Million.

Myrt, Goodness child, when it rains it pours.
You just can't catch a break.
Glad to know you are feeling better.
I will go to store today and buy the large package.

Chicken wings with garlic again today.
Am I getting hooked on something besides taco salads without the taco bowl.
Might just be.
Now all go and have a very good day.
N2L

N2L, you survived all odds Thanks for the info. I used to subscribe to various magazines that have gone belly up and I thought one of them was a walking magazine. I also subbed to a LC mag about 6 years ago that is no longer in existence.

Went to my favorite place to eat and I felt really sick to my stomach. Maybe I was trying to eat too fast? I had to get a doggy bag because I couldn't eat it. I have never had this kind of problem before.

I want to get back on plan. I loved how I was feeling when I was eating right, with fruits and veggies. I have a lot of stuff on my mind with the divorce and all so it's hard to get to the grocery store, but as soon as life settles down, I will get back on plan.
