I only visit this thread occasionally, so I hope you're still here, Gail. I turn 60 this year, and have been post for maybe five or six years, low-carb for three. I've been at maintenance since April 2005.
My weight seems more stable since I've been on LC--but that's largely a result, I think, of excellent adherence to the program and a very regular exercise routine including cardio and weights.
One thing I have noticed is (at last!!) thinner thighs. Someone suggested to me that this is due more to hormone depletion than to diet and exercise, but whatever it is, I'll take it. Unfortunately, this effect also applies to boobs. But you can't have everything.
