Not sure about the candida diet, but for butter I think I would use "ghee" instead. They sell it in the hfs, in a jar. It is butter with the milk solids removed. Not salted either, but for cooking, it is just like butter. You could add salt to whatever you are using it for. I guess if it bloated you, it's probably not a good idea....

sounds like you have a dairy intolerance. Ghee would be a great replacement.

Thumbs up is sweet cream butter, salted ok on Candida diet?

You can make your own Ghee. It's also called Clarified Butter. Just take a pound of butter (cut it up if you want to), put it into a 1 quart saucepan, and melt it over medium heat. When it's melted, let it come to a rolling boil for 2-3 minutes to boil off last of the water. Let it sit for a minute or 2 to let the milk-solids settle. With a soup spoon skim as much of the floating solids as you can. Then slowly pour the clear liquid into a clean jar, trying not to stir up the solids on the bottom of the pan. When you finish you should have a jarful of clear, light yellow liquid. This will keep in the refrigerator about as long as regular butter.

I'm a bit of a skin-flint and I'd rather do this than buy jars of overpriced Ghee.

You're quite welcome. I learned how to do this over 30 years ago in a gourmet cooking class in college.
