Default A crazy question. . .

I love gum! I have given up even my sugar-free gum. I was wondering if I might chew it immediately after a CM without it increasing my insulin.

What if I begin chewing it within my 60 minutes, but continue to chew it after the 60 minutes is up? Wouldn't the 2 carbs be chewed out right away?

I know this is stupid, but I do love to chew gum. Does anyone know???

not a stupid question- especially if you love gum that much.
i would imagine that the carbs would be all chewed out- i dont think you should worry about it.

Sugarless gum is a no, no. Perhaps you could tolerate a piece after your CMs and/or your RM. Do not, in any case, exceed a 60 minute meal.

The fact of chewing at other times can raise your insulin levels even if the sweetness is gone. If you chew, your body expects food and releases insulin.

Yes. Putting any food in your mouth, sweet or non sweet, or even the action of chewing starts the digestive process and the digestive process starts with the release of insulin.
