Can I be punished too?
I just hate a big steak and salad. I'll suffer greatly I promise.
You'll probably hear me moaning in distress...

'They think they've ruined their diet because they've eaten a slice of bread or a potato but the reality is we need carbohydrates in our diet for energy and fibre to help our bowel function, as well as vitamin  B. If you're lacking vitamin B12, found in many fortified cereals, you can develop anaemia as it helps form red blood cells.

Eh...isn't B12 the vitamin that vegans tend to be deficient in because it comes primarily from animal-derived foods? It's pretty tough to take nutritional advice from someone who advocates relying on some of the highest-glycemic, most processed carb sources out there to get a key nutrient.

Struggled to conceive?

Tell that to all the PCOS women who start having regular periods for the first time in their life after going low carb.

I agree with the folks who commented that these people were doing it wrong. If you mix lowfat with lowcarb you are spelling trouble. I can tell you from experience if I don't get enough fat I feel rotten.

There is quite an interest in promoting grain for human consumption. Look at the ads on television. You see white rice and presweetened cereal, and bread advertised all the time. Not to mention candy. Carbohydrates are big business

If companies could patent meat and veggies ( and make a killing on them ) it would suddenly be healthy to eat low carb.

Maybe the industry could sell Sugar Frosted Brussel Sprouts as a healthy snack.
