Default HELP!! Pre-natal vitamins.

Well at my advanced age of 38 I'm going to go for it and try and have a baby.I have a 11 and 7 year old. My new husband wants a baby.

I've lost the weight gotten of the blood pressure pills. I still have a good bit to go but plan to remain low carb.

I now take a mulit vitamin
5,000 iu D3 every other day
600 mg calcium every day w/ 500 iu d3 everyday
3,000 mg CLA everyday
750 mg l tyrosine everyday
1,000 chelated magnesium everyday
1 biotin everyday
1 chromium everyday.
Melationin at night.

B12 should be on your list, too.

I like this one:

Like with magnesium, I have tried different kinds and this definitely works best for me.

A quick Google of B12 and fertility yielded quite a batch of articles.

I read about it in Sally Pacholok's book.

Good luck,

amanda

Wow thanks! i hope what I'm currently taking is okay. I'll probably drop the CLA once I run out.

I'm going off the pill at the end of the month.

I know they recommend using something else for a month or two to let the Pill work out of your system. Good luck!

You go Kayla! I had my last child at 39 yrs old. She's a blessing. It was my most enjoyable experience out of all my children. I think it was the age. We learn to appreciate things more as we get older. Best wishes!

Using something else while getting all that junk form the pill out of my system.

Donna thanks! I feel like I'm nuts for agreeing to this but he is a good Dad to my 2 kids already and so excited.

I just really want to make sure I'm doing everything possibe to ensure my child healthy.
I quit smoking for my first daughter.
IMO anything I do while I'm pregnant my child has to live with for the rest of their lives.

I'm all for vitamins, in fact I took a multi while pregnant that was way more than a prenatal. That said, The tyrosine and melatonin give me pause...I would for sure drop the melatonin as it is a hormone that could affect the developing brain. Probably would be ok but I personally wouldn't take the chance. Same with tyrosine...let the baby's thyroid develop without it. (is that what you take it for?)

I did take prenatal vitamins. I wouldn't know what to do now that I low carb. I guess I would check with the baby doc on what I'm already taking and go from there. I lost 30 lbs during my last two pregnancies. The above statement is kinda humerous to me now that I think about it. I would know what to do. I would low carb. That exactly what I did my last two pregnancies, not knowingly, but did it to control my gestational diabetes. That is why I lost 30 lbs. The minute I delivered, I dove back into the potatoes and bread and put it back on. I would definetely low carb, but not very low carb and I would take my vitamins. If they're making me healthier why wouldn't the baby be healthier? JMO!

Oh yeah I forgot I'd drop the melatonin and tyrosine. I don't have a thyroid problem so it will be fine.
donna that is so cool you did lc with your pregnancies. I'm definately going to!! I'm a severe carb addict and would blow up like a balloon!
Not super low I'd add in more fruits and veggies.
