Default Liver Supplements?

I just purchased some "Liver Anti-Oxidants" by Andrew Lessman. I can't even really say why I felt the need to get them but when I think about all the critical functions of the liver, it just seemed like a good idea to try them out.

I know Tumeric is good for your liver but I'm not big on using tumeric in my cooking...don't especially like the flavor of it.

So here's an excerpt of what it says about the Andrew Lessman supplements I ordered:

"....contains a blend of highly concentrated standardized extracts of milk thistle, artichoke and turmeric, along with important nutrients necessary to support liver function. The liver is the largest internal organ in the body, comprising about 2% of the total body weight and is arguably the hardest working organ. The liver must keep our body's internal environment healthy and to do so constantly performs more than 500 different functions and thousands of chemical reactions, including the processing and storage of nutrients, as well as the metabolizing of drugs, alcohol and other chemicals within the body...."

I read the reviews on the site and people said they were good...some talked about it lowering their cholesterol, giving them more energy, just feeling better in general, but not a lot of specific benefits.

Anyone on here ever try this brand? Use this brand? Take any sort of liver supplements regularly?

Have you notice any specific benefit from them??

Burt Burkson has chapter on liver function in his book about Alpha Lipoic Acid. He claims to have saved a few people from mushroom poisoning with the said ALA. He claims that they were left for dead in the hospital but after ten days on ALA their liver function returned to normal.
