Default Help with exercise routine.

A month ago I increased my exercise from 60 minutes of cardio 3X a week to 60 minutes of high intensity plymetrics mixed in with weigh training 6X a week. At first my weight hit a brick wall and I lost a few inches, but in the past three weeks I have gained weight (3 pounds) and not lost any inches. I am enjoying the hard workouts, but wondering if I should give my body more time to rest in between?

I know the whole spill about tearing muscles, retaining water to repair them, and muscle weighs more than fat. Basically I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, and how long till I start losing again? I know there is never a "magic" answer on this, I just would LOVE your opinions and experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Amber. You are doing great with your weight loss. Focus always on diet first as that is what will dictate the weight. I imagine you have seen plateaus etc before if you have been at it a while so won't be panicking.

You should be resting every other day as otherwise you will simply get injuries which will stop you training for weeks on end.
